Clayton’s Accountancy Services Ltd is a friendly family company offering a range of services to sole traders, partnerships, limited companies and private individuals in the Fylde Area.

The business was set up in 1998 and became a limited company in 2007. When contacting or visiting Clayton’s Accountancy Services Ltd you can be sure of a helpful and friendly greeting.

Val Clayton (Director)

After working in several firms of accountants for a number of years Val set up her own business in 1998 working on a small scale from home. At the same time she worked part time on a sub contract basis for local firms of accountants. In 2004 she moved into offices and ceased all sub contract work. As the business grew she employed her daughter Gemma. After the company was formed another member of staff was taken on.
Val deals with all clients personally and works mainly on the partnerships, limited company accounts, all taxation matters.

Gemma Tate (MAAT)

Gemma joined the business in 2005 as a payroll clerk, she soon realised that she wanted to study accountancy and attended college one day a week for three years to qualify as a full member of the Association of Accounting Technicians.
Gemma works mainly on the sole trader accounts, book – keeping and Vat Returns.

Patricia Wilsdon

Pat has been a family friend since 1983. She runs our payroll department and also deals with all the administrative work.

Financial Statements

Every UK business is required to complete accounts on an annual basis. These accounts are then used to calculate tax liability based on profits.
We complete accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies.
We charge an annual fee for this service and do not charge any extra for advice during that period.
We even send out reminders when accounts are due to be completed to ensure that appropriate deadlines are met.


Our payroll department is fully computerised and uses HM Revenue and Customs accredited software. We can provide weekly or monthly payroll to suit your needs. From as little as one employee up to fifty you can be sure of the same first class service. We ensure that payslips are delivered in time for payday and advise you of your PAYE and NIC liability.
All relevant forms during the year and at the year end are filed by us on-line to HM Revenue and Customs.

VAT Returns

All businesses with a turnover of £73,000 (1st April 2011) or more need to register with HM Revenue and Customs to pay Value Added Tax.
Once registered businesses are required to complete returns quarterly. We provide assistance with calculating your VAT liability and will also file your Vat Return on-line on your behalf where applicable.

We send out reminders to ensure that deadlines are met.

Book Keeping

All businesses are required by HM Revenue and Customs to keep adequate business records. Each business transaction has to be recorded and for most businesses this is the job which gives them the biggest headache. We cure that headache by completing your book keeping for you , either manually or computerised, whichever you prefer. This can be done to suit your needs, either weekly, monthly or quarterly, in our offices or your business premises.

Self Assessment

Tax returns are issued annually to businesses, company directors and private individuals with complicated tax affairs.
If these are not completed on time then penalties are incurred. £100 for only one day late!
We can save you time and worry by completing the return for you, we will also calculate your income tax liability and tell you how much and when to pay the tax to avoid any other penalties.
